Ethiopia and U.S. Hold Reform Talks

Ethiopia’s Finance Minister Ahmed Shide held talks with U.S. Treasury and State Department officials on the sidelines of the 2025 IMF–World Bank meetings, discussing support for Ethiopia’s Homegrown Economic Reform agenda. The discussions focused on transparency, governance, and expanding trade and investment ties. The U.S. praised Ethiopia’s reform progress and pledged continued collaboration. Ahmed also met ICSID Secretary-General Martina Polasek to advance Ethiopia’s accession, reinforcing investor confidence and alignment with global investment standards.
