News is for everyone. Everyone should know the facts and truth about what is going on around them, for their own betterment and security, and for that of their friends, family, community and the country and region in which they live.
Yet, quality trusted news is increasingly to be found only behind paywalls, meaning only those who can afford to access can stay informed. At Alison, we want to make sure that at the very least, the top news stories are accessible to everyone in an ordered and neutral fashion. We are starting our news service for Africa with a Weekly News Summary Service across two Categories, Politics and Business, but where the demand exists, we will expand to a Daily Report. We aim to provide our main service in the English language as it is the most understood global language, however we will also be facilitating French and Swahili as we launch our Africa service and more languages as we grow.
We are particularly keen to target the following:
The Underserved
Those who do not have convenient or affordable access to a high-quality trusted news summary service.
Diaspora
We want to provide a free and convenient way of emigrants to keep track of what is going on in their home countries, helping to keep the international connection alive and close.
The Busy
We all live busy lives and sometimes it is hard to stay aware of what is going on around us and what others are doing for our benefit or otherwise. We need an informed society everywhere for the health of the public good.
Please help us to extent our mission into News Summaries by subscribing, and by inviting those you believe would gain from being part of the Alison empowerment journey.
