The Democratic Congress Party (DCP) withdrew its candidate from the Malava parliamentary by-election in favor of DAP-K’s Seth Panyako, aiming to build a united opposition. DCP deputy leader Cleophas Malala said the decision followed a scientific survey showing Panyako was stronger. In return, DAP-K will support DCP’s candidate in the Kisa East ward race. The Nov. 27 vote now pits DAP-K against UDA’s David Ndakwa, backed by top government officials.
