The foreign ministers of Egypt, Tunisia and Algeria urged all Libyan parties to engage seriously in the UN-led political settlement process after a trilateral meeting in Algiers. Their joint statement called for a Libyan-owned solution that preserves the country’s unity and institutions, and stressed the need for reconciliation, elections, and a consolidated ceasefire. The ministers rejected foreign interference and called for the withdrawal of mercenaries as Libya remains divided between rival eastern and western administrations.
