Angola reaffirmed at the United Nations its opposition to unilateral sanctions against Zimbabwe and Cuba, saying the measures violate international law and peaceful relations between states. Angola’s UN representative, Francisco José da Cruz, called for stronger multilateral cooperation, peaceful dispute resolution, and reforms to the UN Security Council to improve African representation. He also said Angola will host an African Union summit on peace and security in August.
