Koome Names Acting Appeal Court Leader

Chief Justice Martha Koome appointed Justice Wanjiru Karanja as Acting President of the Court of Appeal after Justice Daniel Musinga’s term ended on May 24, 2026. Justice Wanjiru, the senior-most appellate judge, will oversee operations while preparations for electing a substantive president commence. Nominations will run from June 8–15, 2026, with voting scheduled for June 22 if multiple candidates qualify.
