Somalia’s Lower House of Parliament approved the National Payment System Bill, advancing efforts to modernize the country’s financial infrastructure. During its 12th sitting, 154 of 156 lawmakers voted in favor of the legislation, which aims to improve transparency, security, and digital banking. MPs also held the first reading of the Sexual Offences Bill and reviewed amendments to the 1975 Anti-Piracy Law, underscoring the parliament’s focus on economic reform and social justice.
