Somalia Seeks Action at COP30

Somalia’s Deputy Prime Minister Salah Ahmed Jama attended the COP30 climate summit in Belem, Brazil, urging global leaders to act swiftly on climate change. He said Somalia, one of the world’s most climate-vulnerable nations, faces recurring droughts despite its minimal emissions. Jama outlined Somalia’s Nationally Determined Contributions and Climate Adaptation Plan under the National Transformation Plan (2025–2029), calling for stronger cooperation and climate finance to build resilience and sustainable development.
