Kenya-Uganda to Remove Trade Barriers
On July 30, 2025, Presidents William Ruto of Kenya and Yoweri Museveni of Uganda signed eight new bilateral Memoranda of Understanding in Nairobi. They pledged to eliminate tariff and non-tariff trade barriers, streamline border congestion, and improve standards and quality assurance under the East African Community framework. The deals span trade, infrastructure, agriculture, mining, and urban development to enhance regional integration and economic cooperation.
