Zambia launched a 2025–2029 child online protection strategy to safeguard young internet users from cyberbullying, exploitation, harmful content, and emerging threats like AI-generated deepfakes. Led by the Ministry of Technology and Science with ZICTA, UNICEF, and civil society, the plan seeks stronger enforcement, digital literacy, and nationwide collaboration. Officials note that more than a third of Zambia’s internet users are minors, urging action to cut online child abuse by half by 2029.
