Zambia Faces Cholera Vaccine Shortage
Zambia has recorded 556 cholera cases, with nearly all patients discharged and four still receiving care. Health Minister Elijah Muchima told Parliament that the vaccination campaign is stalled by global shortages, with only 1,580 doses administered out of 235,000 targeted. The government has requested more vaccines from WHO and plans a nationwide rollout once supplies arrive. Authorities urge strict hygiene as they assess water and sanitation systems with international partners.
