Kenya, Somalia Seal Stock Market Deal
The Nairobi Securities Exchange and the Somalia Securities Exchange signed a partnership establishing a framework for dual listings, shared regulatory standards and Shariah-compliant products. The deal includes cooperation on technology transfer, market surveillance, post-trade infrastructure and investor-education programs, supporting Somalia’s formal entry into capital markets. NSES CEO Yasin Ibar said the collaboration will expand regulated financing for Somali businesses ahead of the country’s planned 2026 bourse launch targeting telecoms, banking, real estate, energy and agriculture.
