Ethiopia presented the Bishoftu International Airport project to global investors at the Africa Investment Forum, drawing strong interest from development partners, lenders, and export-credit agencies. Led by Ethiopian Airlines Group, the USD 12.5 billion first phase will handle 60 million passengers, with full capacity projected at 110 million. The project includes major cargo facilities and an airport-city development. Officials said the hub will ease pressure on Bole Airport and strengthen Ethiopia’s regional aviation competitiveness.
