Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua accused President William Ruto and Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja of involvement in unrest at Kariobangi North PCEA church. He said hired groups and police intimidated residents after the ruling party lost the ward by-election. Gachagua warned that forced loyalty would not secure support in Nairobi or Mt. Kenya and highlighted recent DCP wins. He also announced a pact with Wiper to field joint candidates in Nairobi in 2027.
