Government Starts Gemstone Center

The government began constructing a Gemstone Value-Addition Training Centre in Arusha to expand local gemstone processing and skills development. Minister for Minerals Anthony Mavunde ordered the contractor to increase manpower and work around the clock to meet deadlines. The TZS 33 billion project includes twin eight-story buildings and aims to reduce raw gemstone exports, create jobs, and strengthen Tanzania’s mineral value chain through specialized training.
