Benghazi Parliament Rejects Turkey MoU

Politics 17/12/2025

Libya’s Benghazi-based House of Representatives declared the maritime agreement signed with Turkey legally invalid and non-binding. Speaker Aqila Saleh said the deal was never ratified by parliament and therefore does not bind the Libyan state. He signaled readiness for negotiations with Greece, Egypt, and Turkey to redefine maritime boundaries, stressing sovereignty as a red line. Saleh said Libya will pursue balanced relations without aligning with competing regional blocs.
