President Yoweri Museveni launched his 2026 presidential campaign in Luweero District at Bukalasa Agricultural College in Wobulenzi Town Council, the historic base of the 1981–86 NRA struggle. Addressing supporters, he outlined achievements in peace, agriculture, industry, and youth skilling while pledging tougher action on corruption, drug theft, and education challenges. Local residents urged government to elevate Bukalasa Agricultural College to university status. Museveni is seeking a seventh term under the NRM.
