AU Slams Israel Somaliland Move

The African Union Peace and Security Council condemned Israel’s recognition of Somaliland as an independent state, calling the move illegal and a threat to Somalia’s sovereignty and regional stability. The council said no actor has the authority to alter the borders of an AU member state and urged an immediate reversal. It reaffirmed support for Somalia’s unity and called on member states and partners to uphold international law.
