UKEF Backs €193m Uganda Loan

UK Export Finance backed a €192.9 million loan to support the first phase of Uganda’s agricultural modernization project, with Citi as the sole lender. The financing covers 95% of the contract value and funds infrastructure, including storage, processing, and cold facilities nationwide. Led by contractor NMS Infrastructure, the project aims to cut post-harvest losses, raise standards, and expand export access. It marks UKEF’s first agriculture loan in East Africa.
