Mhagama Wins CCM Peramiho Primaries

Victor Mhagama won the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) primaries for Peramiho Constituency, securing 3,040 of 8,577 valid votes to contest the by-election on February 26, 2026. The primaries, organized by CCM Songea Rural District across 16 wards, followed the death of former MP Jenista Mhagama in December 2025. A total of 27 candidates sought the party’s nomination. The Anti-Corruption Commission intervened amid claims of bribery during the primary election process.
