Balimwezo Wins Kampala Mayor Race

National Unity Platform candidate Ronald Nsubuga Balimwezo won the Kampala lord mayor race, defeating incumbent Erias Lukwago and seven other candidates. Electoral officials said Balimwezo polled 141,220 votes, ending Lukwago’s 15-year tenure at City Hall. The result strengthens NUP’s hold on the capital and signals voter support for new leadership focused on urban services, accountability, and cooperation with Kampala Capital City Authority officials.
