Absa Bank Uganda and GirlCode hosted the 2025 GirlCode Hackathon, bringing together 50 Ugandan women in technology as part of a 30-hour, continent-wide event spanning eight African cities. Participants developed fintech solutions to improve women’s financial inclusion, guided by 15 mentors. Winning teams received digital devices, while the overall continental winner will attend the Women in Tech Global Summit. The initiative supports Absa’s broader commitment to women’s empowerment and digital financial inclusion in Africa.
