Abyei Team Briefs UN Envoy in Ethiopia

A South Sudanese delegation from the Abyei Committee, led by Minister of East African Affairs Pieng Deng Kuol, met UN Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa Guang Cong in Ethiopia to brief him on the situation in Abyei. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Apuk Ayuel said the meeting comes ahead of Cong’s report to the UN Security Council. The delegation also met Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos to discuss regional cooperation and peace efforts.
