Aviation Reforms Target Regional Hub

Ethiopia is advancing reforms to position itself as a regional aviation hub, Transport and Logistics Minister Alemu Sime said. The Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority licensed an aircraft maintenance provider under the Ethiopian Air Force and an aviation training school for international cargo services. Officials said the measures will reduce airline maintenance costs, expand the skilled workforce, and support new infrastructure, including the Bishoftu International Airport, to strengthen Ethiopia’s aviation and logistics sector.
