Kalama Ward MCA Boniface Maeke faced disciplinary action from Chama Cha Uzalendo after allegedly supporting a rival candidate in the Mumbuni North by-election while aligning with President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance. CCU Secretary General Sadjah Philippe said Maeke’s actions amounted to resignation under Section 14 of the Political Parties Act and gave him seven days to respond. Maeke dismissed the move as a political witch-hunt, denied bias, and defended his ties with Kenya Kwanza leaders.
