Tunisian doctor and writer Hichem Ben Azouz won the Comar d’Or 2026 for his first French novel, Sangoma the Healer, at a ceremony in Tunis. The awards, celebrating 30 years of Tunisian literature, recognized works in Arabic and French, with increased financial prizes. Special and Discovery Prizes were given to emerging authors. The event included tributes to notable literary figures and concluded with a concert by the Carthage Symphony Orchestra.
