COTU Seeks Deporting a Chinese National

Kenya’s Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) called for the deportation of a Chinese national filmed assaulting a Kenyan worker at TCM Mabati Factory in Eldoret. In a statement to Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen, COTU said the incident violated the workers’ rights and urged stricter oversight of foreign-run enterprises. The worker later said he forgave his supervisor, but COTU maintained its demand and noted earlier concerns about misconduct involving other foreign investors.
