Amhara Peace Pact Marks New Phase

Ethiopia’s Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh said a permanent peace accord between the Amhara Regional State and the Amhara Fano Popular Organization marks a turning point for regional stability. Officials said the agreement reflects public demand for peace and reinforces dialogue as the basis for resolving political differences. Mediators from the African Union and IGAD supported the process. The government said it will ensure full implementation to strengthen security and prevent further conflict.
