EU, ZICB Boost Zambian Agri-SMEs

The EU’s EIB Global and Zambia Industrial Commercial Bank will jointly provide €30 million to expand financing for agricultural SMEs and strengthen Zambia’s value chains. The initiative supports smallholder-linked businesses, boosts private-sector growth, and reserves 30% of funds for women-led enterprises. It includes technical assistance, gender-focused lending improvements, and risk-sharing tools to expand credit access. The program aims to modernize Zambia’s agriculture sector and improve rural livelihoods.
