Govt Plans Teacher’s Phased Pay Raise

The Ugandan government reaffirmed its plan to raise teacher salaries in phases beginning in the 2026/27 financial year to address a nationwide teachers’ strike. The Uganda National Teachers’ Union launched the strike over low pay, poor working conditions, and unpaid allowances, disrupting classes across the country.
