Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba extended the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) and Universities Fund application deadline to September 14 for first-time university and TVET students, following the original August 31 cutoff. The extension supports 802,159 learners after KSh 23.16 billion was disbursed for tuition and upkeep. Continuing students, second or subsequent applicants, also gained more time via HELB’s mobile app, USSD, or HEF portal.
