KSh600B Lost to Stalled Projects
On August 29, 2025, the Project Management Institute (PMI) reported that Kenya is losing over Sh600 billion in stalled or mismanaged public projects across sectors, including infrastructure, energy, water, and ICT. High-profile examples are the unfinished Aror and Kimwarer dams, which have already cost Sh63 billion. PMI attributes the waste to poor planning, corruption, weak supervision, delayed payments, and unqualified project managers, and is calling for legislation to regulate the profession.
