The Libyan Foreign Bank filed a lawsuit in a UK court against Zimbabwe’s finance minister and state-owned oil company, seeking repayment of over $100 million in unpaid fuel loans dating back to 2001. The bank said Zimbabwe repaid only $5.5 million in installments, leaving the remainder, including interest, outstanding. Zimbabwean officials have acknowledged the debt since 2005. The UK High Court set a deadline for Zimbabwe to submit its defence.
