Mbabazi Secures NRM Older Persons Seat

Jacqueline Mbabazi secured the National Resistance Movement’s slot for Older Persons in the Western Region after the Electoral Commission nullified rival Patrick Mutabwire’s nomination for lacking the required number of valid supporters. Mutabwire submitted ten signatures, but four were deemed defective. Mbabazi said she will use the mandate to advocate for dignity and better health care for older persons. Her win adds to more than 16 NRM candidates already unopposed ahead of the 2026 elections.
