Nairobi Gets Three Administrative Units

Kenya’s Interior Ministry created three administrative sub-regions in Nairobi to improve service delivery, citing the city’s growing population. Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen announced Nairobi North, Nairobi East, and Nairobi West as new coordination units, each headed by an official at the County Commissioner rank. A gazette notice detailed the sub-counties under each unit. Murkomen also redeployed several County Commissioners nationwide, saying the changes reflect officer strengths and recent public consultations.
