Border Reforms Ease Uganda Trade

0

A joint Kenya–Uganda technical committee reported major progress in clearing trade bottlenecks at key border posts, easing the movement of goods and people into Uganda. Officials said improvements at the Busia, Malaba, and Lwakhakha One-Stop Border Posts are reducing clearance times, shortening truck queues, and cutting business costs. The changes support Uganda’s role as Kenya’s largest export market and are expected to strengthen bilateral trade, improve food security, and boost regional economic integration.
