Research Targets Dementia Care Gaps

A five-year research project led by the University of Stirling aims to improve dementia care in Kenya, where cases are rising, and support systems remain limited. Funded by the Wellcome Trust, the study will examine cultural beliefs, diagnostic gaps, and policy shortcomings affecting dementia care. Researchers will develop culturally appropriate assessment tools, caregiver training, and community-based approaches to strengthen dementia awareness and improve health outcomes nationwide.
