The Rapid Support Forces agreed to a humanitarian truce proposed by the US-led Quad after seizing El Fasher in Darfur following an extended siege. The move comes amid severe allegations of mass killings and other abuses in the city. Sudan’s army has not accepted the pause, saying it will only join if the RSF withdraws from civilian areas and surrenders its weapons under earlier peace proposals.
