Somalia’s Upper House secured full membership in the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace after Senate Speaker Abdi Hashi Abdullahi signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Council President Ahmed bin Mohamed Al-Jarwan. Officials said the agreement followed discussions on strengthening Somalia’s legislative role in promoting stability, dialogue, and coexistence. The membership provides Somalia with a platform to engage global lawmakers and contribute to international peace initiatives through parliamentary cooperation.
