Somalia Opens Solar Tender for Clinics

Somalia’s Ministry of Energy and Water Resources launched a tender to build off-grid solar plants with battery storage at 22 health facilities in the North Eastern State. Bidders will design, supply, install and commission the systems within eight months, followed by one year of maintenance. The project includes one 150 kW system with 300 kWh storage and 21 smaller 25 kW systems with 80 kWh storage. The tender forms part of the World Bank–backed Somali Electricity Sector Recovery Project.
