Somalia, Qatar Strengthen Ties

Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre met Qatar’s Ambassador Abdullah bin Salim Al Nuaimi in Mogadishu to discuss strengthening diplomatic cooperation. Officials said the meeting reviewed ongoing collaboration between the two governments and reaffirmed Qatar’s support for Somalia’s national priorities. The leaders also discussed coordination between both countries as Somalia works with international partners. Barre emphasized the importance of maintaining close relations with Qatar as part of broader efforts to deepen regional and international engagement.
