South Sudan to Join WTO

Atong Kuol Manyang, South Sudan’s Minister of Trade and Industry, said the country is working diligently to secure full membership in the World Trade Organization (WTO) during her address at the 16th United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD 16) in Geneva. She explained that aligning domestic laws and regulations with international standards will help diversify the economy, boost exports, attract investment, and reduce reliance on oil.
