Uganda’s presidential election delivered continuity under President Yoweri Museveni, prompting Sri Lanka to deepen investment ties, former ambassador Velupillai Kananathan said. Museveni won a seventh term with 71.65% of the vote, sustaining policy stability that supports investor confidence. More than 20 Sri Lankan firms now operate in Uganda, mainly in renewable energy. Steady 6-7% growth and upcoming oil production are expanding opportunities in infrastructure and power projects.
