Starlink Halts Uganda Internet Service
Starlink has suspended all satellite internet services in Uganda as of 1 January 2026, following a directive from the Uganda Communications Commission requiring a valid local license. The company confirmed that no terminals are officially sold or distributed in the country and that previously active units were imported without approval. The shutdown follows a Uganda Revenue Authority order requiring military clearance for Starlink equipment. Starlink signaled willingness to cooperate with regulators for future licensed operations.
