Uganda launched a plan to build a $500 billion economy driven by clean, affordable, and sustainable energy under its Ten-Fold Growth Strategy. Energy Minister Ruth Nankabirwa announced the initiative at the Renewable Energy Conference and Expo 2025 in Kampala. The government targets universal electricity access by 2040, scaling generation to 15,420 MW by 2030 and 52,481 MW by 2040. Recent projects and new clean cooking programs aim to expand access and cut reliance on biomass.
