Uganda’s Civil Aviation Authority, working with ICAO and the UK government, presented the final draft of a feasibility study on sustainable aviation fuel. Deputy Director General Olive Birungi Lumonya said Uganda aims to adopt cleaner aviation energy to help meet ICAO’s goal of cutting aviation CO₂ emissions by 5% by 2030. The study finds that Uganda’s biomass resources could support local SAF production, improve energy security, and generate environmental and economic benefits.
