The United Nations will honor three Moroccan peacekeepers with posthumous Dag Hammarskjold medals during International Day of UN Peacekeepers commemorations in New York. The soldiers served in UN missions in the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The UN said Morocco ranks ninth globally in contributions to peacekeeping operations, with more than 1,300 Moroccan military and police personnel currently deployed in Africa.
