Zambia signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Ethiopia to support its national digital identity program, modeled on Ethiopia’s Fayda system. The partnership focuses on knowledge transfer, biometric enrollment, and the development of interoperable systems. Zambia also launched a $30 million refugee digital ID project with support from the World Bank and UNHCR. These efforts aim to expand access to public services, improve governance, and align with Africa’s broader digital development goals.
