Zimbabwe Gains Support for UNSC Bid
Zimbabwe said it has secured backing from at least 80 countries outside Africa for its bid for a non-permanent UN Security Council seat for 2027–2028, adding to unanimous endorsement from the African Union and SADC. Foreign Affairs Minister Amon Murwira said Harare will intensify diplomatic outreach ahead of the June vote. President Emmerson Mnangagwa framed the campaign as part of Zimbabwe’s commitment to peace, multilateralism and inclusive global governance.
