1. Oil Firms Urged to Expand Markets

Officials urged oil suppliers to expand into regional markets as domestic opportunities narrowed ahead of the country’s shift to oil production in mid-2026. Uganda received eight southern white rhinos from Munyawana Conservancy in South Africa to strengthen its national rhino recovery program. African Parks donated four males and four females to support breeding and genetic diversity. Officials from the tourism ministry and Uganda Wildlife Authority welcomed the animals, which moved to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for quarantine and monitoring.
